Jervis Bay is known for kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling, surfing and recreational boating due to its calm protected waters, marine park and stunning coastal beaches. From surfing the nearby breaks around Cave Beach and Aussie Pipe, to paddling a kayak or SUP from Huskisson to Vincentia or up Currambene Creek in Huskisson, there’s something for every level of adventure. Just 50m down the road from Nautilus Apartments you will find Huskisson Wharf where you can hire SUP and Kayaks from Jervis Bay Wild, as well as Pontoon Boats and smaller leisure boats. You can also hire larger speed boats from Boab Boats.
Fancy a spot of snorkelling? From Nautilus Apartments, you can drive out (15Min) to Booderee National Park and explore the marine park areas such as Greenpatch, Bowen Island and Murrays Beach. It’s common to spot colourful reef fish, blue gropers, bream, leatherjackets, wrasse and schools of silver fish weaving through rocky reefs and seagrass beds.
If swimming, sunbaking and enjoying lazy beach days is more your style, head out and explore some of Australia’s whitest sand beaches like Hyams Beach, Chinamans Beach, Greenfields Beach and Huskisson Beach to name a few on this side of the bay.

Jervis Bay Wild hires stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, pontoon boats and smaller leisure boats from Huskisson Wharf, just 250 metres from Nautilus Apartments. Larger speed boats can be hired from Boab Boats. Booking ahead is recommended during school holidays and summer weekends.
Some of the best snorkelling is inside Booderee National Park, around a 15-minute drive from Huskisson, at marine park areas such as Greenpatch, Bowen Island and Murrays Beach. Snorkellers commonly see colourful reef fish, blue gropers, bream, leatherjackets and wrasse among the rocky reefs and seagrass beds. Beaches in Vincentia such as Greenfield Beach and Blenheim Beach also have beautiful snorkelling.
Jervis Bay is famous for having some of the whitest sand in Australia. Hyams Beach is the best known, while Chinamans Beach, Greenfields Beach and Huskisson Beach are excellent alternatives with similar sand without the crowds! Murrays Beach and Greenpatch inside Booderee National Park are also well worth the short drive.
Hyams Beach is around a 15-minute drive from Huskisson, roughly 10 kilometres south around the bay. You can also reach it on foot via the White Sands Walk from Vincentia. This walk takes you on a scenic coastal track running between Nelsons Beach, through to Blenheim Beach, Greenfield Beach and Hyams Beach which takes around 30 minutes each way. It’s a lovely walk and a great way to take in nature and the coastal sites.
